To make the most money, the type of books you write are like sex books, because those are the most selling books out there now. A lot of the main readers out there are teens! Even adults find those types of books interesting! Write about things that are going through peoples life!

If you're concerned about money, then maybe you should reconsider this whole writing thing.Writers write because they need to tell whatever story they have in their head, not because they wanted to find a way to make money. Also, you'll find that the writers in the market only for the money ironically don't make much money. For writers, writing is the main focus, and money is just a pleasant side-effect. Most writers, save for J.K. Rowling, don't usually make enough money to live 100% off.So, if you're interested in the money and not the writing, I would choose something else. There are lots of jobs out there.

i am risking a thumbs down by answering this question at all as some pleb has given everyone who has answered the thumbs down but here goes anyway. the answer is fiction. it covers a huge field i know but it is the real money maker. the trick is to write the kind of novel that appeals to the most people. you need to be able to take the reader away from his own life and into a world created by you where they can be moved in some way. the greatest ever exponent ot that in my humble opinion is charles dickens, who could take the reader through a range of imotions from sadness, anger, laughter and joy in the space of only one page.

If that is your attitude, you should look elsewhere. Books, even text books should be written by people passionate about whatever they are writing about.

Well, my advice is to NOT think of the money. If you just think about what will make the most money you may end up writing a book that you do not enjoy writing. And, if you write about something that you do not find interesting, then the book may not be as good as if you had written it about something you do like. So, just write about what YOU want, and do not think about the money until the book is published.
